Strategy for Restricting the Use of Coal and Other Solid Fuels in Sarajevo Canton 2021–2031

Through GIS mapping of 42,000 heating units and advanced dispersion modelling, an optimal model for decarbonizing the residential sector was defined. The strategy provides an action plan for replacing inefficient stoves, expanding district heating and energy renovation, with the aim of reducing particulate matter emissions by 90% and protecting citizens’ health.
